In a bold step toward building a more skilled and future-ready workforce, Kenya Airways (KQ) has joined Nexford University’s SkillBridge network, a growing network of visionary employers committed to employee upskilling and retention through flexible, high-quality online education.
The partnership places Kenya Airways alongside leading coalition members such as Guarantee Trust Bank, Car and General, Tarpo Industries, and Majorel. Together, these organizations are helping shape the future of work in Africa by providing their teams with access to globally recognized academic programs.

We're proud to partner with Kenya Airways to empower their teams with the skills of the future through Nexford’s flexible, career-focused programs — designed to support learners whether they’re on the ground or in the skies.” said Fadl Al Tarzi, CEO of Nexford University.
As part of the agreement, Kenya Airways employees will receive partial scholarships to enroll in Nexford’s 100% online, competency-based programs, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA), Master of Science in Digital Transformation (MSDT), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA). They can also choose from a range of short, skills-based courses in AI, blockchain, machine learning, corporate sustainability, leadership, product management, and more.
Nexford’s model allows professionals to learn wherever they are — at home, at the airport, or on layovers — and whenever their schedule permits. This is especially beneficial to airline professionals like flight attendants, pilots, and pursers, whose schedules rarely follow the traditional 9-to-5 format.
All Nexford programs are accredited in the United States and recognized by Kenya’s Commission for University Education, giving learners the confidence that they’re earning credentials that matter, both locally and globally.
According to a report by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), airlines that invest in employee training see a 15% improvement in customer service scores. Furthermore, 74% of organizations now rank e-learning as a key approach to workforce development, especially post COVID-19.
The Kenya Airways-Nexford partnership is a timely response to these trends, bridging the skills gap while positioning the airline as an employer of choice.
This partnership also reflects a broader movement across Africa, where digital learning is becoming a powerful equalizer. With mobile-first platforms, round-the-clock academic support, and real-world curricula designed by industry leaders, Nexford is building a pipeline of future-ready professionals, without the barriers of traditional education.
