The learner takes the role of a “CEO” and uses business tools to analyze competitive strengths and weaknesses, create a competency profile, document high-demand marketable and transferable skills, craft a resume and develop a lifelong learning and career development plan that will be revisited throughout the degree program.

This course is divided into two parts: Part 1 is to establish a competitive benchmark pre-assessment and initial lifelong learning and career development action plan, and Part 2 enables the learner to re-evaluate competitive strengths and weaknesses, finalize the lifelong learning and career development action plan, and create a personal brand and business plan for the individual career path.

University Refund Policy

Nexford University’s refund policy ensures learners a fair and equitable refund benefit while complying with the requirements of the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). The University charges tuition monthly and sends an email with the invoice to learners. This covers instructional access, regardless of the number of courses or credit hours taken in a term.

While courses are offered in 8-week terms, learners can complete their course(s) at an accelerated pace and begin new courses at the next available start date. Learners select an option to pay monthly, pay for two months, or pay for six months. Learners who complete their academic programs at an accelerated pace may incur a lower total cost for their programs as they may pay for fewer monthly payment periods across their program.

Non-refundable Fees

A non-refundable application fee is required for all applicants to Nexford’s degree and non-degree programs and must be submitted with the application.

Cancellations

Newly admitted learners are required to submit their first monthly tuition payment after signing their enrollment agreement to finalize their enrollment into Nexford University. Learners have five (5) calendar days after signing the enrollment agreement to cancel enrollment in writing at success@nexford.edu and receive a full refund of all monies paid to Nexford University. Once the cancellation request has been received and processed, a notification will be sent to the Billings Team to complete a refund. The refund will be made to the learner within 30 days of the learner's notice of cancellation.

Dismissals

Learners may be dismissed from Nexford University for failing to meet academic or financial requirements or for violating university policies. Grounds for dismissal include failure to demonstrate course participation, violation of the University’s code of conduct, unsatisfactory academic progress, non-compliance with financial obligations, or non-compliance with admission conditions. Refund eligibility for dismissed learners is determined based on the date of their last academic activity. Dismissed learners may request a refund by contacting the Learner Success team at success@nexford.edu. If eligible, the Billings Team will contact the learner to obtain the necessary account details. Refunds are issued in the learner’s local currency and will be processed within 30 days of the request.

Withdrawals

Learners who wish to withdraw from the University and request a refund must submit their request in writing to success@nexford.edu.

Refund eligibility is determined based on Nexford’s refund policy, see the chart below. Once a withdrawal request is received and processed, the Billings Team will review the learner’s eligibility for a refund. If eligible, they will contact the learner to collect the necessary account details for processing. Refunds are issued in the learner’s local currency and will be processed within 30 days of the withdrawal notice.

Exception to Nexford’s policy on tuition refunds: Completing a course in less than the standard 8-week timeframe does not qualify for a tuition refund.

Calculating the Refund

Learners who withdraw or are dismissed from the University during a term are eligible for a refund of tuition paid for that term (two monthly payments) based on the date of last academic activity:

Learners are eligible for a tuition refund based on the date of their last academic activity. In all cases, learners are eligible to receive a refund for tuition paid in advance for future terms.

Tier 1

Example 1:

If an MBA learner from the United States withdraws from the University during the fifth week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 20% tuition refund.

Tuition paid for the term (two months of tuition at $450 per month)	$900

Example 2:

If a BBA learner from the United States withdraws from the University during the third week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 60% tuition refund.

Tuition paid for term (two months of tuition at $390 per month)	$780
Tuition refund percentage (withdrawal term week three)	60%
Tuition refund:	$468

Tier 2

Example 1:

If an MSDT learner from Finland withdraws from the University during the fifth week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 20% tuition refund.

Tuition paid for term (two months of tuition at $360 per month)	$720

Tuition refund:	$144

Example 2:

If a BBA learner from Finland withdraws from the University during the third week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 60% tuition refund.

Tier 3

Example 1:

If an MBA learner from Egypt withdraws from the University during the fifth week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 20% tuition refund.

Tuition refund:	$120

Example 2:

If a BBA learner from Egypt withdraws from the University during the third week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 60% tuition refund.

Tier 4

Example 1:

If an MBA learner from Nigeria withdraws from the University during the fifth week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 20% tuition refund.

Tuition paid for term (two months of tuition at $275 per month)	$550
Tuition refund percentage (withdrawal term week five)	20%
Tuition Refund:	$110

Example 2:

If a BBA learner from Egypt withdraws from the University during the third week of the term, they would be eligible to receive a 60% tuition refund.

Tuition refund:	$192

Tuition Appeal

If, for failing to meet the stipulations noted in this policy, a learner’s request for a tuition refund is denied, they may appeal for reconsideration. To appeal for reconsideration, learners must submit a written explanation of the circumstances they feel warrant an exception to the University’s refund policy as stated herein. Exceptional circumstances might include incapacitating illness or injury. To be eligible for reconsideration, appeals must include documentation that establishes the veracity of the exceptional circumstances claimed. The University does not consider disciplinary action due to violations of Nexford’s Learner Code of Conduct valid grounds for appealing the rejection of a tuition refund request; reconsideration will not be granted on the basis of such appeals. Appeals should be sent in writing to billings@nexford.edu.
