About This Course

Analyzing and presenting data visually has become one of the most important skills for professionals who work with data. This course demonstrates how to design effective interactive visualizations of complex data for data discovery, analysis, and presentation. Learners utilize the information visualization and communication knowledge and techniques presented in this course to create visuals from the information. This course develops a holistic set of skills to ideate, design, implement, and evaluate sophisticated data visualization projects. Concepts including visual encoding, human perception and visualization techniques are introduced so learners can develop effective interactive data visualizations for analysis and presentation through the skills and techniques used in data visualization. The course is structured to leverage authentic and realistic data and use case studies and other resources from the workplace to demonstrate the value of information visualization and communication.

What support is available for learners?
Nexford offers learners support from our Success Advisors, who can advise on academic planning, enrollment, time management, and other issues related to life as a student and working adult. Nexford also offers other types of academic support, such as a writing resource center, research assistance from our online Librarian, and learning support within courses from the course instructor and the course facilitator. Nexford also offers opportunities for learners to connect with each other to get support from their peers, include a Peer Mentor program and alumni communities.
What time commitment do I need to make?
Learners should expect to commit a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, per course. The max duration to complete a course is 8 weeks, but learners can move at a quicker pace if they like.
What's the deadline to enroll?
You may enroll at any time, but we recommend you enroll at least one week before your first course. This gives you enough time to complete your orientation and explore the learning environment before you start.
I missed the application deadline. Can I still apply?
You can! We accept new learners on the first of each month. So even though you missed one deadline, there's another start date around the corner.
