Admissions requirements

No surprises. Just a clear list of what to send in.

Whether you're applying to an undergraduate or graduate program, we keep the requirements simple and straightforward.

Proof of identity

A photo or scan of a government-issued form of identification and a passport-style photo or selfie.

Proof of graduation

Undergraduate Programs

This can be either your high school graduation, or college graduation. Alternatively, proof of your General Educational Development certificate (GED) or equivalent exam, such as HiSET or TASC: valid copies of your official diploma and transcript in English*.

Graduate Programs

We need a valid copy of your official diploma and transcript in English* confirming the completion of a bachelor’s degree from one of the following:

  • An accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • An international higher education institution approved by the appropriate ministry of education or recognized country equivalent
  • An international institution whose degree has been evaluated as equivalent to a U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree by a credential evaluation agency that is a member of the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES)
  • An international institution whose three-year bachelor’s degree is accompanied by an official evaluation report verifying its equivalency to a four-year U.S. bachelor’s degree (this evaluation must be conducted by an agency that is a member of AICE or NACES)

We may ask you to certify that your undergraduate degree meets the university’s qualification standard and refer you to an external agency to evaluate your credit.

*Documents not written in English must be accompanied by official translations, such as those provided by a validated institutional official or embassy. If a translated copy is unavailable at the time of application, the Office of Admissions will arrange for the document to be translated before rendering a decision.

English proficiency

If you’ve graduated from an institution where the primary language of instruction was English, we will rely on your transcript to prove English proficiency.

If your prior education was not in English, we’ll need to confirm English proficiency as part of our process to ensure you’re equipped to succeed at Nexford.

Earn credit for what you already know

Your experience counts — and now, it actually counts toward your degree.

If you've already taken college courses, earned certifications, or gained skills on the job, there's a good chance it can help you move faster at Nexford.

We offer a flexible transfer credit process that looks at more than just transcripts. You can get credit for:

  • Prior college or university courses
  • Professional certifications (like PMP, CompTIA, or SHRM)
  • Standardized exams (CLEP, IB, etc.)
  • Employer training programs
  • Military or government learning
  • Real-world work experience

Even if your previous learning doesn’t match a course one-to-one, it may still count toward your degree. You can earn full or partial credit, and you’ll get a clear estimate early in the process, so you know exactly what applies.

You’ll submit your prior learning during admissions, and we’ll guide you through the evaluation step by step. A small review fee applies, but the time and tuition savings can be big.

You’ve already done the work. Let’s make sure it counts.
